Jill asked me, "When did Wess live in that home?" So I thought I'd point out that it is not clear in your post that the house is not YOUR childhood home. If it IS YOUR childhood home, then I withdraw my comment, but when did you live there?

I really like this one. The dark background makes the lilly pads and fish really look like they are floating.

Congrats on the cover of Inside Northside!! I just finished looking at your site - you are great!
I haven't seen you in a while - I've been doing the markets, but don't do Northshore Art Mkt anymore. I do NO Art Market in Palmer Park - do you do that one? I just haven't seen you and wondered what you were up to. Obviously, you've been painting like crazy - you work is so great! Dianne Parks

Hey, check out Jeb Arcement's website - http://jebarcementfineart.com - he is a science teacher by training and an artist by talent. He paints in both watercolors and oil paints . . . seriously, aren't you amazed with the tightness of his paintings! :-)

Wess, your work is stunning...I bring my animals to AHC and have become friends with your wife Tammy. I would like to have you paint a picture of my 3 dogs together on a canvas. I will take a picture of them and get it to you through Tammy. I am also working hard on getting Tammy to become a scrub tech and advance her education. I have a feeling she would excel.

for some reason i think that people further north might like these more than where you are. not sure if i am right...lots of fly-fishing around here (maybe fly lures would go over better). i have a friend that said he might want to fly you up to paint his portrait. he said that sending you a picture is far to impersonal. not sure is he is being for real or not.

One thing I notice is that when looking at the main site, it doesn't show comments anywhere . . . not apparent how to get to where one can comment. I'll have to fix that.

The last thing I changed was I added the patterned background. An idea I would normally not entertain. But this one looked nice . . . almost too busy, but not quite. Any thoughts on the banner at the top? Should I put some color up there . . . like a slice of one of my paintings or something....? Just thinking out loud.

Dude, I just subscribed to the podcast. We are going on a road trip with the kids tomorrow and this will be perfect traveling listens. We have the They Might Be Giants - ABCs Cd it is great. I noticed they featured them a bit.

Good question. I suppose I should have given a quick explanation.

I'm toying with the idea of illustrating a short story I wrote with a kitten that says, "Meow?" quite a bit. (it is never revealed what the kitten actually means by saying, "Meow?" . . . . it is only implied.)

And it also handles "nesting" of comments so you can reply to a comment already posted if you wish instead of the main blog post. Also, hovering over the avatar of the user gives you previous comments by the user and . . . other stuff. Cool
